Hello (future) neighbors

Hey future Olive Park neighbors. I'm setting up this blog as a space for folks to chat about the new building, life in the neighborhood, updates on move-in dates, etc. I spoke with Aptsandofts recently and was told they were expecting a completion date at or possibly before the end of summer. Now just if they'll tell me what kind of advance notice they are going to give us before we are supposed to sign the lease!

hi andy! i'm going to be a neighbor of yours! i'm super excited about moving in too - and my pug simon is one lucky dog to have a dog run outside our front door! I stopped by the building last weekend to check out the progress... it was the first time i actually got to see the pool/ spa live. AWESOME.

Too funny -- we went out to Olive Park last weekend as well. The sales folks must have been thrilled ;-)

They wouldn't show us the pool/spa so I'm super jealous you got to take a peek. Did you get any pics of the area? How's the pool look? Any word on the puppy spa?

the guys at aptsandlofts definitely weren't happy to take me to the pool... but my sales rep wasn't availabe (at another open house) so they gave in and i got to see it - i just uploaded photos to flker... check out... http://www.flickr.com/photos/23646899@N03/sets/72157603882640059/

And i did get to see the 'dog spa' it's basically a closet like room that has a raised platform bath in it, so you can give your pup a bath after taking him/her to the park.. It wasn't completed so i dont know if it will include hair dryers, etc.

i met another guy at the open house that was also a future neighbor - didn't catch a name or anything.

i've been living near union square for the last 10 or so years... how's life in brooklyn? the commute? recommendations on places to eat and drink?

Thanks for all the info. I just posted a link to your Flickr photo stream. I know I was VERY excited to see pics of the pool (YAY!)

We actually live in the west village at the moment, but I used to live out on Bushwick Ave, between the 3rd & 4th stops, and still love the area. Actually friends held on to my Bushwick apartment until just last month so I've been back a ton. And as for food, you gotta go to Tony's Pizza next time you head out.
